A Fairytale Wedding in Nipomo

Hi Friends!

I have moved!! Check out my new site: !!

See you there!!

I haven't been ignoring you I promise! Work has been nuts ( 10+ hour days, everyday) and if you follow my twitter or instagram, you know I've been to like a hundred bagillion weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties etc.

This last weekend we went to my cousin Jenny's wedding up in Santa Maria a little town about an hour north of Santa Barbara. (It was actually in Nipomo, but the family is from Santa Maria).

Jenny married her sweetheart Mark at the Dana-Powers house, a stunning estate. You can check our their website here: but I found that their Facebook has waaaay more pictures:

This wedding was absolutely beautiful, like a Pinterest board come to life. I thought I'd share some photos with you for some inspiration if your special day is coming up. I forgot my real camera and a lot of my iPhone pictures turned out blurry because my stupid phone case so some of these are borrowed from my adorable cousin Carmen. Thanks Carmen!

Here we go!

The Venue:

The ceremony was held on the lawn in the side yard of the house. There were white chairs on either side of the isle, but by the time I snuck back to take a photo, they had already put them away.
They had a religious ceremony which included lighting the unity candle.

This is the view of the house as you drive up.

There were all of these cute little sitting areas. This one was my favorite and by far the most romantic

The reception was held behind the house.

The also have a few old barns on the property that they use as well.

Uhh Hello Dream Home! Where have you been all my life?!

Dinner was served after a short cocktail hour in the garden between the house and one the old barns. So Stinking Cute.

The Ceremony

They had a ring bearer and a flower girl.

The flower girl was my cousin Jen's daughter Shayna. Cutest little thing, she looked like a mini-Jenny running around.
Pastor and Mark waiting for Jen.

Jen was walked down the isle by her dad, my Uncle Bob.

As I said earlier, they had a religious ceremony which included a sermon and a bible passage read by her mother.

Off to the reception!

Well actually off to take picture while the rest of us enjoyed some amazing hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.
The Reception!

Mr. and Mrs. Coverdale make their debut!
Jen used this cute old window to show the seating chart.

This hung over the bar where cocktails were served for the duration of the evening.

To make it easier on the servers, they asked everyone to pick a straw based on their dinner selection.

All of the tables in the cocktail area has these gorgeous flowers.

Candy Bar!

My adorable little "niece" Alexa and her mama, my cousin Sarah. I just had to throw in a picture of this cutie pie!

There was no dj, music was played from this little ivy covered gazebo. During cocktail hour they had a guitarist and a violinist doing covers of mostly contemporary songs, it was pretty neat.

Instead of a traditional guest book, they had everyone sign this portrait that they can hang in their house.

Nonalcoholic beverages, to be had in mason jars. Pintastic right?

Happy Couple just before their first dance, giving Shayna a little love.

Happy Family.

First dance, they danced to Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I Am" which I freaking loved.

My dad and Suzie Q.
These were the center pieces at the dinner tables.

Can I just tell you, this was THE best salad I have ever eaten in my entire freaking life?! YUM.

Water "cups"

Parents of the bride aka Aunt Sharon and Uncle Bob thanking all the guests for coming.

Jenny and Mark thanking everyone for coming.

My cousins Sarah, Christine and I waiting for CAKE!!

Sue and I

Shayna LOVES cake. She calls it happy cake, a combo of happy birthday and birthday cake lol.

All of the cousins stupid fuzzy iPhone :(

I caught the bouquet!!
