Weeping Angels

This past Saturday, I went to a service for a friend who passed away. After the service, my friend Kelsey and I walked around and looked at some of the really old tombstones. We stumbled upon this cluster of angel statues. If you are a doctor who fan, you know why this is terrifying.

Interestingly enough, every single one of those are for the same two people. Yes. You read that right, all of these statues are for two people.

Here are some other photos I took that day:

I don't know why but I find cemeteries simultaneously beautiful and creepy as frick haha.

What do you guys think? Cemeteries: Freaky or Fantastic?

Matchbook Beauties

During this past Thanksgiving weekend, my Gramma came across this box of old matchbooks that my Grampa collected during his time in the military. They were so absolutely beautiful I had to take some pictures and I thought I would share them with you.

My favorite is blue one in the middle that says United States Navy. They were all so pretty and unique.

Leave me a comment below and let me know which one you like most.

Also, don't forget! Holiday Boot Camp is coming THIS SATURDAY! December 1st! Get excited!!

Farewell to a Friend.

Whenever I think of Grace I always think of a. her accent b. her sassitude and c. this picture of her in Paris that Margit has on her computer. I think this one I found on the ALI website is that same photo.

She is just so happy and full of life in the picture which is how she always was to me. Even when she was mad at some student for being an idiot, there was just this passion that exuded from her that made people happy.

Grace was such a firecracker (as every redhead should be). Whenever I was down or frustrated, she'd pop off with some one liner that would make me laugh so hard I cried. Or got the hiccups which apparently she thought was hilarious.

Grace was a work friend, meaning someone I came to know and love through my office. We didn't really spend time together outside of work, but considering you spend most of your waking hours working, those individuals have a big impact on your life. She taught me about professionalism and dedication. She taught me to have all the sass in the world but still carry yourself with class. As a colleague, she is someone I looked up to and admired.  Although I don't work at ALI anymore, her passing still ways heavy on my heart.

Another thing you should know about Grace, and what I will ALWAYS remember, is her uncanny ability to be standing behind me whenever I'm being awkward. If I was picking something from my teeth in the bathroom mirror, she'd walk in. If I was adjusting my outfit at my desk, there she was. If I stubbed my toe, she'd be there. Laughing. Hysterically. at me.

I think that's why so many weird things happened to me today. I forgot to buy tissues so I stole Starbucks napkins, my hair was a mess, I stepped in a puddle, spilt food down my top, just little stupid things I would always get caught doing.

I'm so glad I got to pay my respects to her at her service today, because that is what she deserved: my love, admiration and respect.

I love ya Grace! See you on the other side.

Friendly Feast

Hi Friends!

I have moved!! Check out my new site: !!

See you there!!

If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with coworkers that is easy and doesn’t put anyone out during an already busy time, try the Friendly feast.

I know, you’re thinking dear God, not the Turkey. Not more turkey!!

Don’t make turkey then! Everyone brings a favorite dish from their childhood, be it thanksgiving related or not. They also bring the recipe to share with everyone! If they send you a digital file, you could always compile them into a book!

Everyone only has to make one thing and you end up with a huge spread, see below:

Here is the table! I was so SO freaking upset yo. I went to Michael’s and they had NO freaking Thanksgiving ANYTHING left. An entire week before the holiday. What the actual freak?!

For place cards, I took tiny glittered pumpkins (which I found in a box under a display at Michael’s) and added little paper leaves with their names on them. For the vine, just cut a tiny strip of paper and tightly wind it around a pencil, being sure to pull snugly. It will stayed curled!

The napkin rings were a GENIUS idea from my coworker. She added quotes from others about how our office has impacted their lives. So cute!

I made green bean casserole but I forgot to take a picture!! It was SO stinking good!

Best part? I get to use my table decorations for thanksgiving at my house since I’m hosting this year! Yay!

You can totally do a potluck thanksgiving for your family too!!

Did you have a holiday party at your office? Share some pictures in a comment below!

Color Run SD

So if you haven't ever heard of The Color Run, you can check out their website here:

Basically, you run a 5k and people throw colorful powder at you at each distance mark so when you're finished you look like a rainbow mess of color.

My friend Kelsey actually ran the race up in LA a few months before. When she asked me if I wanted to volunteer at the one in SD I jumped at the chance.

Throw color on running people?

The event was pretty poorly organized from the volunteer perspective. We weren't given a lot of direction, in fact we weren't given any. There was a LOT of waiting around for things to get started.

Once we finally got situated and the race started it was all worth it.

They give you these bottles filled with colored powder. Its soft and feels like a fine four.

At each k, there is a different color station that throws powder onto you as you run by. We were the pink station, the very first one. It was awesome!

On the opposite side of the divider from us was the blue station. I asked this kid to put some blue powder on my shirt. He proceeded to throw a handful of blue at my face. Asshat.

At the end of the race, all the runners get to throw packets of color in the air and it creates a rainbow of color in the air. Its pretty cool.

You are also COMPLETELY covered in colorful powder that takes a couple showers to get off.

All in all it was fun, but I think I'd much rather run next time!

Have you done the color run in your town? Share some photos!!
