everything and more

So this year for Christmas, I had no idea what I wanted. People asked me, but I didn't know what to say. The only things I really wanted were way above the askable price range.

But my family is amazing.

I got the two things I really wanted but couldn't ask for.

A new Camera and a Cricut!!

Get excited for lots of new photos and blogging because I now have the equipment to do so.

What exciting things did you all get?

Froelichs do Christmas

I know I haven't been posting as much as I should, but I'm back!

The holidays were crazy!

I never posted my last Christmas craft because it took forever to actually finish. I kept getting interrupted.

It got too complicated and I had to keep changing things so no tutorial just picture inspiration :).

I made a board game for my boyfriends family!

I hope you all had a great christmas!!

Holiday Bootcamp: 3-D Snowflakes!

Hi Friends!

I have moved!! Check out my new site: !!

See you there!!

Hi guys!!

Welcome to the second to last edition of Holiday Boot Camp 2012!! I hope you all have had a fantabulous time prepping for the holidays with me!

Tonights craft is 3-D snowflakes!

So I'm trying something new... I was trying to take pictures as I went with the first one I made but it was too hard and didn't make any sense. Sooooooo I decided to try and make a video!

Someday-baby meets youtube yo!

Here is the tutorial as a video.

Let me know what you guys think! Do you like having the video? Is it helpful? or do you like step by step photos?

Aaaalso! Along the lines of snowflakes I found this awesome website that lets you make digital snowflakes.

You can cut it out on the screen and then it will open. It helps if you want a specific shape. You can cut it out digitally so you can see what shapes you need to make when its folded so it looks like a heart for example when its opened.

And you don't waste paper!!

You can check it out here:

I hope you are all excited for tomorrow's post! Its a big deal! :D

See you all then!!

Holiday Boot Camp: Super Fast No-Sew Santa Hoodie!

So if you're like me, you love hate yours sewing machine. I always have these fantastical ideas like making slippers (like that will EVER happen) and they always turn out sort of... off.

So I decided to make a no-sew detail hoodie!

So what you need is:

A red hoodie and some fur trim
And some of this:

So I saw a hoodie like this at the mall for $35 and i was like shoot I could make that. So I bought a hoodie from ebay for $6. and the trim I had left over and the heat n bond I had left over too but each of them were around $4-5 with tons of extra. So all together it cost around $15 with extras left over and you can customize it however you want which is SO better. ;)

Its so stinking easy I don't even need to explain it. But I will.

On your hoodie lay our your iron-on adhesive where the edges of your trim are.

Lay your trim over the heat n bond and iron it on following the directions on the package. Follow along the zipper and along the hood.

Make sure that you flip it over and iron the back too since the fur is thick stuff!

Once you follow it all the way around the front is done!

The using the freezer paper stencil method shown here: Freezer Paper Stencil Method, I screen printed "Miss Sassy Claus" on the back.

And that's it! The longest part was waiting for the paint to dry. I used a velour jacket so the printing on the back looks a little fuzzy but I like it. I think it looks furry!

If you have any questions, don't forget you can always leave a comment!

See you tomorrow for another installment of bootcamp!

Holiday Boot Camp: Shattered Peppermint Brownies

Yay! Foooooood!

Welcome back to Holiday Boot Camp 2012! Its time for another sweet treat!

I am making an extra post today to make up for the lack of post on friday.

Today's sweet treat is Shattered Peppermint Brownies!

Its kind of a semi-homemade kind of thing, which is what I reallllly go for! Who has time to make everything from scratch? not me.

So here's what you need:

Your favorite brownie mix and whatever its recipe calls for.
Peppermint extract
Candy canes!

Ok so! Bake your brownies according to the box minus about three minutes.

Then, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, lay out your candy canes like so:

And bake on 350 degrees for 5-8 minutes, they will melt into one sheet!

I don't have a photo of this because I literally used up all the memory on my iPhone already and didn't have time to delete some :(

Once it cools, shatter it into little bits! Then spread them over your brownies and bake for 3-5 minutes to seal them into the brownies.

That's it! They are sooo yummy!

I definitely had three already. Whoooops!

I hope you all had a wonderful weakend!

See ya on the flip side!

Holiday Boot Camp:Mike's Mustachios- Etched Glass Jars

Howdy Lovies!

So in my family, we do a pull-a-name-out-of-a-hat type gift exchange and only buy for that person since no one really has a ton of money these days.

Well I drew my uncle, and he just want A LOT of pistachios. (I can write about it here because he doesn't read!)

I wanted to make him a cute jar so I figured I would incorporate it into Holiday Boot Camp 2012.

So for Holiday Boot Camp today I will show you how I made a jar with his name on it.

Here's what you need:

Armour Etch glass etching cream (This is stuff can be hard to get so I suggest getting it online.
A glass container
Puff Paint
Sponge or applicator brush.

Using the puff paint draw on your design. Remember that what you draw with puff paint will be clear and what you fill in with armour etch will be frosted.

I wanted mine to be sort of funky messy, but if you want yours more exact, use a stencil!!

Next apply a thick coat of armour etch cream to your jar. I wanted mine frosted just inside the letters so I painted it on. I wanted it slightly messy so I purposefully went out of the lines a few times.

Let it sit for about 8 minutes then since off the excess cream.

Peel off your puff paint to reveal the sheer awesomeness!

And that is it!
I went ahead and filled it with pistachios which made it a little harder to see the writing but its still cool!!

That's it! I hope you guys like this! What I really wanted to show you is how easy it is. You can totally do it yourself!

I have to tell you guys it is SO stinkin hard to get a picture of etched glass!! You can hardly see it in the photos, but in real life it looks super cool!
Don't forget if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Holiday Bootcamp: Fun Money

Hi everyone!

I would first like to take a second to say wooooopsies sorry about no post yesterday. I was trying to stay a few days ahead and then had to work late a few days and then I had no craft yesterday and the one I made was a craftastrophe. Like legitimately. I went to bed at one last night epically defeated.

I won't even bother telling you what the craft was. Maybe I'll submit it to pintrosity. (Which if you've never read, it HIGHLARIOUS!)

Anyway. Onwards and upwards!

Today's craft is: Fun Money!

Everyone knows that the teenagers in your life always love getting cash but its not as much fun to open as a present so I always try and wrap cash and gift cards in a fun way. ( Case in point: Money Lei from last year's Holiday Boot Camp! )

When I saw these at Target, I knew they would be PERFECT to fill with dinero and/or candy!

So Here's what you need:

Fun Giant Christmas bulbs (Target has LOADS all shapes/colors/sizes)
Gift Tag.

Here's what you do.

Take the top off.

Put the money and/or candy into the ornament.

Put the top back on.

Attach a gift tag and tie on a big bow.

The freaking end!! Merrrry Christmas! I love easy christmas crafts!

I hope you all are enjoying bootcamp!

Much love home skillets!

Candy Cane Mice

Holiday Boot Camp is back babies!

Today's craft is a fun and inexpensive way to give Candy Canes to people in a more exciting way. This is a great idea if you are trying to this of things for your kids to give to their friends or for party favors!

Here's what you need:

  • Felt
  • Scissors
  • Candy Cane
  • Ribbon
  • Puffy Paint
  • Hot Glue
Here's what you do.

From your main color felt, trace and cut out the body of the mouse. You want it to be pretty much shaped like an egg.

Next your ears. From the green I cut out two rounded triangles. Then from the white i cut out the same shape only with a bubbly trim.

Next, cut two slits on the felt. This is where the candy cane will feed through so that it looks like a tail.

Now paint on his lil face!

So now we hot glue! Glue on the ears and then also a little ribbon right below where his tail will stick out.

Next feed your candy cane through the slits. To help it stay in place better, put a small dot of glue on the back side of the felt right where his nose is and then also right behind the bow.

And thats it! You are done!

I hope you liked this fun fast and easy Christmas craft idea. Now its time for the crafterista to go to sleeeeep!!

Good night world!!
